Музыкальные инструменты в Метрополитен музее появились в 1889 году благодаря частным коллекционерам Джозефу В. Дрекселу и миссис Джон Кросби Браун, которые безвозмездно передали на хранение около 4000 единиц. Меценаты отошли в мир иной, но их дело живет и сегодня благодаря усилиям самого музея, сотрудники которого собрали еще 1000 экспонатов, воссоздав тем самым почти полную картину музыкального мира всех времен, народов, национальностей и хронологических периодов. Вашему вниманию предлагается подборка из 55 самых необычных музыкальных инструментов.
